Please read the following to make sure you are eligible: Sec. 29-56. Free on-street parking for hybrid vehicles and other authorized alternative fuel vehicles.
(a) The city shall encourage the use of the newly available hybrid technology by granting free on-street parking on all city streets to hybrid vehicles and other manufacturer authorized alternative fuel vehicles registered in New Haven.
(b) Such qualifying vehicles shall be alternative fuel or hybrid vehicles registered in New Haven where the owner does not owe back taxes or parking tickets. Owners will be granted a non-transferable pass from the department of traffic and parking to be placed on the qualifying vehicle's dash-board or to be hung from the rear-view mirror identifying their vehicle as eligible for free parking at any legal on-street city parking space in compliance with all time and other posted restrictions.
